I am a research scientist at Snapchat. I obtained my PhD from the Robotics Institute (Carnegie Mellon University) under the supervision of Fernando De la Torre. In my thesis, I developed a method to solve Nonlinear Least Squares problems in a supervised manner. Before that, I received my Masters from the same department. I was working with Daniel Huber on context-based recognition of building components.

Before arriving at CMU, I was studying Computer Science at the University of Arizona and also ran track for the Wildcats. In 2007, I received the All-American honor thanks to my teammates, Marcus, Bobby, Troy, and Antoine and of course Coach Harvey.

I was born in Wuhan, China and raised by two great parents who are professional track and field coaches. Under their Influence, I started my track and field career at a young age. In 2004, I won the national junior championship in Men's 200m dash and broke the national junior record in the same event.
